44 East 32nd Street · New York, NY 10016
Since 1999, The Cutting Room has stood as one of New York City's most beloved and storied live music venues. Co-founded by actor Chris Noth, it originally opened on West 24th Street before relocating in 2013 to its current home at 44 East 32nd Street in the heart of NoMad.
The Cutting Room blends rock-and-roll energy with old-world elegance — a chandelier fashioned from electric guitars and stained glass hangs above the room, while a hand-carved 45-foot Stratocaster bar anchors the space. Vintage accents, soft ambient lighting, and lavish furnishings create an atmosphere that is part jazz club, part grand salon.
Over the decades it has hosted some of music's most iconic names — Billy Joel, Lady Gaga, David Bowie, Sting, John Legend, Ronnie Wood, and Post Malone among them — while consistently championing emerging artists. Named one of New York's top intimate show venues, it remains a place where history is made nightly.
The main room combines a dinner-theater layout with exceptional sightlines from every seat. State-of-the-art sound and lighting systems ensure every performance lands with full impact, whether rock, jazz, cabaret, or comedy.
The venue's iconic 45-foot hand-carved Stratocaster bar is a destination in itself. Full cocktail service, a curated food menu of elevated bar bites and shared plates, and a rock-and-roll atmosphere make it a great standalone night out.
Available for private hire up to seven nights a week. The Cutting Room accommodates corporate events, weddings, showcases, and celebrations, with in-house catering, full bar service, and a dedicated events team.
The Cutting Room opens at 19 West 24th Street, co-founded by actor Chris Noth. It quickly earns a reputation as a premier intimate venue for music of all genres, launching careers and hosting legends in equal measure.
The original 24th Street location closes after a decade of unforgettable performances. The Cutting Room's legacy — and its loyal audience — endures through the transition.
The Cutting Room reopens at its new home at 44 East 32nd Street — a larger, richer space featuring the iconic guitar-chandelier, the 45-foot Stratocaster bar, and all the atmosphere of its storied predecessor.
Now in its third decade, The Cutting Room remains one of New York's most celebrated live music destinations — a dinner-theater stage where rock icons, Broadway stars, comedians, and rising talents all share the same spotlight.
