4140 Broadway at 175th St · New York, New York 10033
United Palace is one of New York City's most extraordinary architectural treasures — a sweeping movie palace built in 1930 by famed theater architect Thomas W. Lamb as the last and most elaborate of Loew's five legendary "Wonder Theatres." Its breathtaking interior, blending Byzantine, Moorish, Indo-Hindu, and Art Deco influences, was once described by The New York Times as a true "kitchen sink masterpiece."
With nearly 3,400 seats, United Palace remains Manhattan's fourth-largest theater and one of its most photogenic event spaces, occupying a full city block in Washington Heights. The venue offers more than 30,000 square feet of event space across two floors, including its grand foyer, ornate mezzanine, and the soaring main auditorium — all designated a New York City landmark in 2016.
Today United Palace hosts an extraordinary range of events, from sold-out concerts by artists like Adele, Lenny Kravitz, and Bad Bunny, to film and television shoots, awards shows including the 2023 Tony Awards, and corporate and community gatherings — all beneath one of the most ornate ceilings in the city.
The crown jewel of United Palace — a magnificently ornate auditorium with a deep stage, balcony seating, and the only original "Wonder Morton" organ remaining among the five historic Loew's theaters. Ideal for concerts, premieres, awards shows, and large-scale productions.
A palatial entry sequence featuring a sweeping staircase and ornate Indo-Hindu decoration. Perfect for cocktail receptions, step-and-repeats, registration, and VIP gatherings before guests enter the main theatre.
A selection of versatile rooms suited to meetings, green rooms, production offices, or smaller breakout sessions — ideal complements to larger events held in the main theatre.
Five dedicated dressing rooms provide comfortable, private space for performers, talent, and production teams — a key amenity for concerts, film shoots, and large theatrical productions.
