Dual-band operation.
AirPort Extreme works on two 802.11ac Wi-Fi bands simultaneously. That means the signal is transmitted over two frequency channels simultaneously: 2.4GHz and 5GHz. No matter which frequency your wireless devices use, they'll automatically select the best available band for the best performance.
